Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are two popular wine types in the U.S. You will also find Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon in many wines produced in France, but they will not be on the label of the bottles. French wines are named, not for the grape varietal, but for the region from which they are produced. Italy has a similar process for naming their wines.
