Many professional chefs add salt and pepper to virtually everything they make. Americans aren’t the only culture to love their condiments. If you eat sushi you will more than likely be looking for soy sauce to go with it. Likewise teriyaki is used in the preparation of many cooked foods in Japan. Most foods that we eat benefit from a condiment in some way. Even lamb goes well with mint. The condiments we like are influenced in large part by the culture we grow up with. We may not all agree on which condiment is best, but we all have condiments that we love.
