We now have some additional sweeteners; some artificial and some natural. Equal and NutraSweet are two of the more popular artificial sweeteners. Many people prefer to avoid chemicals and use natural sweeteners. Besides sugar, some of the popular natural sweeteners include honey, fructose, stevia, and xylitol. It can be challenging to know which sweetener is best. Natural sweeteners are higher in calories, but artificial sweeteners are chemicals that are often suspected of being dangerous. Trying to follow the latest studies is frustrating. This is a subject upon which reasonable people often disagree.
