This is particularly important for societies that have trouble creating and/or distributing food. Yet another area of food anthropology looks at the foods that specific cultures eat and the rituals that often accompany the foods. These vary widely around the world and can be very useful in helping us to understand value systems of different cultures. Anything about food that impacts for has impacted a culture or society may be considered when looking as food anthropology.
