Some of the animals are on the farm to work, and many of the animals on the farm will eventually be sold for food. There are, of course, animals such as cows and chickens that produce milk and eggs as well. There has been a trend in farming and in society in general to reduce the amount of artificial feed products and supplements that are fed to animals. This helps to improve the overall quality of the animal’s life as well as the safety of the food that is ultimately produced. Animal rights groups have made an effort to monitor farming practices to ensure the most humane treatment and slaughtering of animals that is possible.
