This is due to the large number of cooking shows that can be found all over the television. There is an entire network that runs nothing but cooking shows and many other networks run them at different times. There have been reality shows and competitions featuring celebrity chefs competing against each other as well as judging the merits of less famous chefs. The entire culture of being a chef is very different from what it once was. Is the food any better? That’s difficult to say, but many chefs are a lot wealthier.
