Many animal rights advocates believe that killing an animal is no different than killing a human being. Just because animals don’t have the intellectual capacity of humans doesn’t mean that they can’t feel fear and pain and suffer both physically and psychologically. The argument against the killing of animals for meat is a difficult one, not because it doesn’t have merit, but because animals have always been killed for food; since the beginning of time. Most people have been eating meat their whole lives and don’t think about where it comes from. Those who decide to become vegetarians have thought about it, and they have decided to not eat animal products.
