Tofu is made from soy and when it is processed into tofu it looks something like a big white sponge. And a sponge it is because tofu is sort of the chameleon of foods. It soaks up the flavor of whatever foods and sauces it is paired with. The biggest advantage of tofu’s flavor isn’t that it tastes good; but rather that it doesn’t taste bad.
