Due to its location it’s not surprising that fish and shellfish play a pivotal role in Greek cuisine. Traditional fish preparations include ingredients such as yogurt, lemon juice and garlic. Chicken is by far the most popular meat in Greek cuisine. Most other meats are typically only eaten on special occasions. Greece has abundant resources of fruits, vegetables, and different types of legumes, and they are all well represented in Greek cuisine.
