Bread is also very important in Spanish cuisine. It is eaten during most meals along with olive oil that is grown locally. It is also eaten as a snack with cheese. The spices of Spanish cuisine often show influences of North Africa with extensive use of saffron, cinnamon, paprika, and cumin.
