Living the singles life permits dating and intimacy with an unlimited number of partners. Some openly share friends with benefits relationship without any serious entanglements. However, for others the singles life means they have not been able to find a suitable partner. These people are feeling the pressure to settle down with the proper partner and take on the adult lives of their parents with mortgages, children and in-laws. Hard as they try using the latest pickup lines, speed-dating, joining book clubs and meetups, they have not found a suitable partner. Middle-aged adults rejoining the single life after a divorce or death of a partner are often befuddled by the changes in dating customs and open sexuality.
