Using a beach, park or other outdoor location is definitely a green idea. And having the reception in the same location reduces energy consumption of getting by only having to go to one location. In some cases it’s not entirely possible to be totally green, but rather a mix of green and traditional customs. For instance, for some families mailing out formal wedding invitation is a necessity, but the RSVP could be via email and the invitations could be printed on recycled paper. Wedding favors, reception glassware and dinnerware can all be made of recycled paper for a green statement. It’s possible to post wedding photos on a photo sharing website rather than printing them.
