The dogs in cold climates such as Alaska are often seen pulling sleds in races such as the famous Iditarod. Of all the sports involving dogs, the most distasteful for many people are the dog races that are found in parts of the world. Dog racing usually involves greyhound dogs wearing muzzles chasing a mechanical “rabbit” around a track. Many believe that the sport is not safe for dogs and there have been reports of the dogs being mistreated.
