The need for insect repellant when camping and hiking is undeniable; the only question is what type to use. There are a variety of chemical based brands sold in stores and online. Some people prefer to use some of the natural alternatives such as clove oil or lemongrass oil. Whether or not these are as effective as the chemical based versions is the subject of much debate. If you would like to try a natural alternative it’s a good idea to test it while at home to see if it seems to work for you.
