There are tents that are made specifically for warm weather and tents that can be uses in colder weather as well. There are even tents that are made to withstand extremely cold and windy conditions. It is very important that we understand the weather conditions we are going to encounter. Preparing for the worst possible conditions is the best policy. Once we are sure of the weather conditions and have the proper type of tent, all that remains is making sure that we understand how to set the tent up correctly. This may seem obvious, but many people take a new tent out camping before learning how to properly set it up; do not make that mistake.
