While college athletes do not get paid (technically) college football coaches can be as well compensated as professional coaches. In fact, there have been a number of coaches that left professional football to return to coach college football. College football is unique in one regard; it is the only major sport either on the professional or collegiate level that doesn’t have a playoff system to decide its champion. College football uses a confusing system of voting to rank teams followed by a single championship game. Most people hate the format; but they still love the sport.
