Millions of people fill tracks and sit in front of televisions every week watching their favorite competitors. There are different types of auto racing that feature different types of cars. NASCAR racing, which features cars that look similar to cars we might see on the street, is the most popular type of racing in the U.S. Another very popular type of racing around the world is Formula One, which uses cars with one seat that go at much faster speeds than NASCAR type cars. These are the sleek, aerodynamic cars that have the look of the stereotypical “race car.” Whatever type of car is involved, auto racing is among the most popular sports in the world.
