The most recognizable name is undoubtedly the New York Yankees. Players such as Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, later followed by Reggie Jackson and more recently Derek Jeter are some of the most famous names in any sport. Other teams such as the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs have their own unique history that endears them to many fans as well. Baseball is unique among sports. It is the only professional team sport whose length is not determined by a clock. The clock never runs out on a baseball game. It only ends when one team scores more than the other after 9 innings or more (weather permitting). Baseball games can be quick or they can go on all night; one never knows what will happen.
