The sport is most popular in most of Europe and parts of Asia. Other than the goalkeeper, who wears padding and masks similar to ice hockey goalies, field hockey players don’t tend to wear much equipment. Typically the only equipment worn will be shin guards and mouth guards. The most prestigious competition involving field hockey is the Olympic Games.
