In the United States, the American Power Boat Association is the organization that sanctions the different motorboat races. There are opportunities for racing at all levels; including for children as young as 9 years old. Different types of races feature different types of boats. Everything from boats that look like rafts with motors, to boats that resemble motorcycles, to the futuristic hydroplane boats, can be found and raced through the APBA. The organization has a website that gives information on how to get started as well as a calendar of events.
