It may seem hard to believe but as recently as the 1970’s virtually no one had a computer in their home. It wasn’t until the late 1970’s and 1980’s that Apple and IBM started offering basic computers that were designed for the average consumer. All of the computers we have today are smaller and infinitely more powerful than those of just a few years ago. The creation, and subsequent popularity, of the internet has allowed us to use our home computers to access information and entertainment all over the world. People can use computers for virtually anything including doing work that was previously only possible in corporate environments. Computers in the home have changed the way we live and the way we work.
