Networks were created to allow for communication across large numbers of people and locations. Most of the activities where we spend a majority of our time are connected by networks. From the previously mentioned internet, to telephones, to the workplace, to the cable and satellite connections that entertain us at home, the networks and communications systems run the world and our lives.
