There was a time when having the latest and greatest PDA was as cool as having an iPhone. Well maybe not that cool, but it was cool. For those too young to remember PDA’s, they were basically like smartphones without the phone. PDA stands for Personal Digital Assistant. It seems tame now, but before smartphones did all of this, PDA’s were the state of the art electronic gadget. With the functionality eventually being built into phones, PDA’s went the way of the dinosaur. Not completely though. Devices s like the iPod touch and the iPad are basically modern versions of PDA’s. The Palm Corporation, which was the leader in PDA’s, was bought by Hewlett Packard in 2010.
