Of particular concern is the seeming lack of emphasis on the security and privacy of the user’s information. Critics have claimed that Google basically created one big loop where all Gmail users could theoretically access information from other users. The privacy and security concerns culminated in a class action lawsuit. The suit was settled for a reported 8.5 million dollars that was to be divided between 12 organizations that were party to the suit.
