Twitter, as you probably know, allows its users to post updates about their current activities. The posts are limited to 140 characters or less. Twitter has become very popular in an interesting way. Celebrities seem to enjoy “tweeting” about what’s on their mind; and fans seem to love the celebrity tweets. When Charlie Sheen had his very public “disagreement” with his employer, his newly established twitter account attracted over 1 million “followers” in just over 24 hours. As with Facebook, many businesses are trying to figure out how to tap into this very large group of potential customers.
