The most successful type of green automobile so far has been the so called “hybrid” vehicles. Hybrids combine the standard gas engine with electric power. The car alternates between the two energy sources. Hybrid cars produce dramatically less emissions that are harmful to the environment. There are cars that run entirely on electricity, but that technology is not as advanced or as popular as the hybrid versions. Other environmentally friendly fuel sources such as biomass fuels as well as hydrogen power have also been used to power automobiles. There are finally some legitimate options for green vehicles and the future for the technology looks brighter than ever.
