If you have ever seen the energy star rating system that is on products such as refrigerators and dishwashers that is what it is referring to. Some products use energy more efficiently, and therefore use less energy. Other products such as different lights may use energy sources such as bulbs that last longer and use less power than others. Another way an electronics company may be considered environmentally friendly is by some of the manufacturing processes that they employ. Some computer makers for example recycle some of their old equipment rather than having them end up in the garbage. Other issues such as careful use of chemicals and environmental contaminants can also make a company and their products “green.”
