Give traffic the green light.
Part 1 of 5
Here are a couple ways to get traffic moving to your Hubs.
You can share links to your Hubs via:
- Social networks such as Facebook and Twitter
- Blogs or Websites (yours and others you can access)
- Emailing friends
- Online discussions forums and chat rooms
- Social bookmarking sites, like Digg, reddit, and StumbleUpon.

The value of promoting your Hubs
Part 2 of 5
Posting links to your Hubs on blogs and websites generates traffic in two ways.
- People can click on the link and read your Hub directly.
- Google and other search engines recognize links as a sign of approval, or "thumbs up", for your Hub. This can result in search engines sending more visitors to your Hubs rather that other Websites on the same topic with fewer backlinks.
.
Where can you post links on a blog?
- Within blog entries, with a short piece of text describing your Hub.
- On your Blogroll or Links section in the sidebar.
- In the blog comments (either on yours or other bloggers)

Link to the ones you love.

Who should I send what?
Friends, family, and anyone who shares your interests are ideal recipients of links to Hubs you think they might like to read. People you know are most likely to comment on your Hubs and share with others. Here are some easy ways to reach out and link to someone:
- Share through Facebook and Twitter. Do you connect with friends on Facebook or Twitter? Click on the Facebook Like button or Twitter Tweet this at the top of your Hub, right below the title, to instantly notify your friends and followers of a Hub they should check out.
- Email a Hub link. Just click on the Share button at the bottom of your Hub, then click on the Email to friends link. You can optionally import addresses from your address book and add a personal note.
- Add links wherever your personal information appears. Put links in your email and discussion forum signature lines, and on your Facebook and Twitter profiles. These are quick, simple ways to let people discover your Hubs.

Set your sights on popular social bookmarking sites.
Part 4 of 5
If you're already an active member, these sites are effective promotional tools.
Social bookmarking sites are a great place to discover and share cool things on the Web. If you're already an active participant, sharing non-HubPages links, then sharing a few Hub links judiciously might be a nice way to get the word out.
- To submit links to Digg, Myspace, Stumbleupon and reddit, click on the gray Share button at the bottom of your Hub. Then choose from the links that appear in the box that opens immediately afterwards.
- You may also want to consider sharing links to your Hubs on social bookmarking sites like Del.icio.us, Mixx, Sphere, Spurl, and Furl, if you're already an active user of these services.
A word to the wise: Like HubPages, these sites will prevent people who selfishly exploit them. Only submitting links to your Hubs and not participating in any other way will likely get you banned. Be a responsible citizen of the social bookmarking sites you choose to participate in!

Spread a little HubLove.
Part 5 of 5
Be generous with your feedback and praise, and others will return the favor.
What do we mean? If you read others' Hubs and interact with other Hubbers, they will likely do the same for you. Here are some ideas on how to make sure everyone wins:
- Leave relevant, insightful comments on other Hubs. This will encourage that Hubber to return the favor and check out your Hubs and leave comments of their own. Other readers also might check out your profile if your comment piques their interest.
- Become a fan of your favorite Hubbers. Leave them supportive fan mail, and check their newly-published Hubs. A genuine act of thoughtfulness is very often returned.
- Participate in HubPages discussion forums. Helping out new users, and participating in intelligent discussion, is yet another way to encourage other community members to learn more about you and follow you.
Thoughtful reciprocity is the key to growing your readership on HubPages, and for strengthening the ecosystem of sharing and learning that benefits us all.
