7 Barbie-Themed Hotel Rooms for the Eclectic Girly Traveler

Do you adore Barbie? Do you want to take your daughter on a very special vacation? Do you just want to do something weird and different when you go on your next vacation? Then perhaps you'd like to stay in a Barbie-themed hotel room. Believe it or not, these rooms themed after one of the most famous women in the world are actually not that hard to find at all. Following you'll find information about seven different Barbie-themed hotel rooms for you to choose from.

1. Plaza Athenee, Paris, France

This new Barbie-themed hotel room option is designed specifically for parents who want to make their little girls' dreams come true. And it's for parents who have some money to spend. The new Barbie accommodations include a pink Barbie room suitable for girls aged 3-16 (ideal, especially, though for tweens) with an adjoining room for the parents. The adjoining room can be a single room or a suite and cost between $2000 and $3000 per night. Part of the appeal of this whole thing is that it's a limited-time offer; the Barbie rooms will be going away in fall 2010 so it's just something special for folks with money to take advantage of. Everything about the stay is Barbie-themed to truly enhance the whole experience for kids.

2. Barbie Suite at the Palms, Las Vegas, Nevada

The Palms in Las Vegas is known for its amazing (expensive) luxury suites. Most of these suites are geared towards the adult naughtiness of Sin City (like the appropriately-named Erotic Suite) but then there's the childhood-icon inspired Barbie Suite which opened in 2009. The idea here is that the little girl in you can live out the fantasy of actually living in Barbie's Dream House. The room includes everything you'd expect from a luxury suite (like a Jacuzzi tub) as well as extensive Barbie d├ęcor. A favorite piece is a unique mirror framed with over five dozen different Barbie dolls. A neat non-Barbie feature is the two-way fireplace between rooms. This suite holds up to fifty people so if you want to do an all-girls getaway to Vegas then here's your chance.

3. Maritim Hotels Barbie Theme Room, Germany

Germany has a set-up that is similar to that offered in Paris but at about a tenth of the price. The Barbie room is designed for a little girl and there is an adjoining room for the parents (because really, what parent wants to be stuck in a Barbie-themed room?) This pink room, offered at the Maritim ClubHotel Timmendorfer Strand, also offers a girls' bathroom with hairbrushes and other Barbie-fy yourself accessories for the little girls who stay here. This hotel also offers a corresponding Hot Wheels room for little boys.

4. Various Hilton Hotels Around the World

The Maritim Hotels suite described above is part of a collaborative effort with Mattel. In the past, Mattel has also partnered with specific Hilton hotels around the world to offer similar Barbie and Hot Wheels rooms. These rooms are typically only available for a few months at each hotel. They've been featured in Buenos Aires and Toronto in the past. You'll have to keep your eye out for new ones as they come out.

5. Melrose Arch Hotel, Johannesburg, South Africa

This amazing luxury hotel doesn't actually have a Barbie-themed hotel room. However, they have been known to go out of their way to create one if you've got the money and give the time to work out the details. They did this in the past for one tween according to Travel Agent Central. This isn't too surprising since the hotel is specifically known for being a luxury kid-friendly hotel that provides numerous age-appropriate diversions for the children of their guests.

6. Sleepover Room at Alton Towers, Staffordshire, Englad

This room isn't technically a Barbie room but it's a great choice for the Barbie-loving girl. It's a themed suite at the Alton Towers hotel that is part of the Alton Towers theme park in England. All of the hotels themed rooms are designed to have lots of perks and surprises for child guests. The sleepover room is a girly, pink room with a sleeping area and a "party" area for little girls. It also contains a make-up and hairstyling bar that would make Barbie jealous.

7. Floral Fantasy Room, Madonna Inn, San Luis Obispo, CA

This hotel room isn't Barbie-themed either but it's ideal for the Barbie-loving girl who is now all grown up. It's filled with pink and flowers and other girly things. It's also got the amenities that an adult woman wants (like a really great shower and a view). It has a pretty pedestal sink and enough room for you to spread out your makeup and have your own little spa day. Other rooms in this quirky hotel have rock waterfalls and natural rock fireplaces so you're sure to find something here to enjoy even if your room isn't Barbie-inspired.
