A Guide to Holy Land Tours: Israel Hubtrail.

Coat of Arms of Israel

State of Israel

Many people have very little idea about how beautiful and developed the country of Israel is. After this land was under Turkish and later British mandate, it was drained and emptied, woods were rooted out for coal, and it was nothing but swamps and bogs, sands and rocks and was rather scarcely populated.

Now it is a blooming country, forepost of culture, science and progress in the MIddle East.

Israel is a blooming place revived from sands and bogs

Israel spreads from north to south for 292 miles and from west to east for 84 miles in the widest place. You can cross it in several hours. It has several climate zones, from snow on the Mount Hermon to desert and tropics. When my friends living in Israel got married, they got a book about places to visit in Israel. They were travelling by car every other weekend by the book sites. They are married for 11 years by now. They didn’t cover the entire book yet.

People who visit Israel say that there is something special about it. Something special in the air. Air in Israel is different. Aura there is different. Even experienced travelers, who went around the globe, who visited all corners of the world admit that Israel stays apart from other places.

The Hebrew Bible (TANAKH) describes Israel as a land blessed with seven fruits and grains:

Israel is a perfect destination for a family tour. Both parents and children can find a lot there. All the places in israel where kids can have fun and adventures, are also very educational places in nature.

Israeli borders

In the West - the Mediterranean Sea and the Gaza Strip; in the North - Lebanon and Syria; in the East - Jordan and the Palestinian Authority's autonomous territories; and in the South - Egypt and the Red Sea.

Israel is a very small country and on many maps there's even no place for printing its name. You have to check the number in references to read the word "Israel". Despite its small size, Israel is home to a variety of geographic features. You can ski on Mount Hermon and at the next day swim with dolphins in Red Sea.

Jerusalem of Gold

No doubt that Jerusalem is number one, a must to visit place. While in Jerusalem you have many many sites worth visiting.

When Hebrew speaking people want to say that they go to Jerusalem, they say "we ascend to Jerusalem" (this is how it sounds in Hebrew), and "descend" when they go out of the city.

Tel-Aviv, a non-stop sity

Tel-Aviv, a city without stop

Tel Aviv is a city without stop (Ir le lo afsaka). During day light you'll see a long beach line with high hotels along the sea coast.

The city of Tel Aviv is located on the Mediterranean Sea and is a mixture of business and seaside resort.

As well as you can read about Rosh Hashana, about Sukkot, about Hanukkah, about Purim.

Thank you, Vladimir. I composed this hub for a HubTrail project, an attempt to collect travel related hubs under one "roof".

Thanks for this hub; the pics are beautiful; watched the Tel Aviv video but the Jerusalem one isn't working anymore?

I've always wanted to visit Israel, but not possible; I'm a horrible traveler (I get motion-sick really bad!) so I rarely venture further than the next State, even.

But I "travel" by listening to the News and reading, etc...

And I know the moral beauty and the Spiritual aura of Israel, of course, from the Bible. May the Lord always defend Israel from the attacks of the enemies of His people.

Thanks for this little glimpse into it!

Brenda,

I appreciate your comment very much and I hope you'll read my other hubs about beautiful land of Israel.

Thanks for pointing out that Jerusalem video didn't work. I put another video, even two, with the same song "Jerusalem of Gold"- the first one is to show the beautiful Israeli singer Ofra Haza, another video gives great scenes of Jerusalem. Houses in Jerusalem are all built from the special Jerusalem stone, which is white/yellow in its shade and under the rays of rising or sinking sun the whole city looks like made of gold. In the rays of day sun it looks white as white can be.
