Bear Paw Cafe in St. George Utah
St. George, Utah, majestic red cliffs, secluded beauty.
Have you ever tasted something that you will remember forever?
Well, I certainly have, and it was at the Bear Paw Café in St. George, Utah, of all places!
First of all, I must confess, I absolutely love St. George. The red cliffs that surround the city are breathtakingly beautiful. I could just gaze across the horizon for hours taking in the glory of those mountains. But, more than that, I love the small town feel of the city itself.

Here it is... the Bear Paw Cafe.
The Bear Paw Cafe, a hot spot for European vacationers.
In my opinion, The Bear Paw Café fits right in with the quaint charm felt all around.
St. George has a ton of diversity there too. It may be small but it is celebrated. It is on the European travel route from Zion National Park to Las Vegas, Nevada. Loads of travelers from across the pond visit St. George in the summer for their vacation to the United States. Some come by car, and some even rent motorhomes, all stop and get refreshments in the little city of St. George. I bet that the little Bear Paw Café has entertained such a diverse group of people, ahhh… if only the walls could talk.
The Bear Paw Cafe feeds the multitudes.
And…how can we forget the crowds of people who flock to St. George during the month of October to enter the world renowned St. George Marathon. Hordes of hungry runners, all converging on this little oasis at once, it almost makes one’s head spin. The Bear Paw Café is busting at the seams during that event too. Lines of people wait to experience the delectables of the Bear Paw.

The Bear Paw Cafe is a hot chocolate oasis!
First, let me tell you, the interior of The Bear Paw Café will gather no raving reviews. It is a very small little hole in the wall that seems to be decorated similar to a “cheap hotel lobby.” The waitresses aren’t even that friendly or accommodating either.
So what, you may wonder, causes people to wait hours in line, especially early in the morning just to get a seat in this cramped little joint? One can only surmise it is the food itself.
For me….now wait for it…. It is the AMAZING hot chocolate!

A Bear Paw Cafe Hot Chocolate Tribute? Seriously?
That bittersweet Belgium Hot Chocolate with mounds of fresh whipping cream on top is a chocolate lovers dream come true. I have been to the famous chocolate centers of the world, like Switzerland, and Germany, and believe me, none holds a candle to the hot chocolate at the Bear Paw Café.
While some may rave about things like The Bear Paw French Toast stuffed with vanilla or chocolate Brule cream and battered in cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar.
Or even salivate over their world famous vanilla, pecan, blueberry, or apple spice Belgium waffles.
Or go on and on about their yogurt and banana infused cranberry frappe.
I, on the other hand, will tell you that at the Bear Paw Café it is ALL about the hot chocolate. In fact, I have devoted an entire HUB to The Bear Paw Café hot chocolate alone!
Praises for the Bear Paw Cafe!
After all, when you experience a life changing experience like that, you simply have to share it with others, now don't ya?
Can I get an Amen?

There are three brothers in my family. Two of which celebrate birthdays in June. This year we planned a brothers only trip to Southern Utah. For the one and only breakfast, the youngest brother had been raving for months about the Bear Paw Cafe.
