The 10 Best Bars in Milwaukee
Get your Drink on in these Milwaukee Bars
Known as “The Brew City” for its many breweries (a.k.a. alcohol factories), Milwaukee also has an amazing selection of bars where you can enjoy a beer or cocktail, live music, events and an evening with friends, family or coworkers. After all, it stands to reason there would be somewhere to drink all that delicious beer once it leaves the assembly line.
So drink it you shall! "But, where?" you ask.
Well, If you ask me (a self-proclaimed beer connoisseur and nightlife extraordinaire), you can't really go wrong when there is beer involved, but these are some of the best bars in Milwaukee to enjoy a cold one during your next visit to the City that Beer built:
10) The Dogs Bollocks
Address: 2321 N. Murray Avenue
Advertised as the only authentic British pub in the city, The Dogs Bollocks is the Milwaukee bar destination for those who fancy Premier League Soccer, English pints and maybe even a plate of fish and chips. Cheerio, mate!
The beer list features a plethora of ales, ambers, porters and lagers you would find across the pond while the décor screams Jolly Old England. The menu is loaded with traditional English fair, including bangers and mash, chicken curry, fritters and of course, the aforementioned fish and chips (“chips” means French fries in England, which mean Freedom fries here).
Every night, the bar offers something new with drink specials and events ranging from trivia to Texas Hold-em, live music and Ladie’s Night. For the avid soccer fan or hooligan, The Dogs Bollocks is the place to be in Milwaukee during weekend Premier League Soccer games when the bartender gets you knackered on $4 Imperial Imported pints and the kitchen cooks up $4 English breakfasts to savor during the matches, all aired on HDTV.
Hail the queen and be seen at the best British bar in Milwaukee, The Dogs Bollocks.
Milwaukee Brewers Gear:
9) Kelly's Bleachers
Address: 5218 W. Bluemound Road
Nothing goes together better than beer and baseball and no Milwaukee bar knows that better than Kelly’s Bleachers. Located just north of Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers, the bar is the perfect pit stop for before and after MLB games.
By simply stopping in to Kelly’s Bleachers before a Brewers game to enjoy a beer, burger, sandwich or appetizer, you receive a ticket for the bar’s shuttle that will escort you to and from the stadium. Shuttles start to leave the bar about an hour before the first pitch and start making pick ups around the start of the 7th inning.
After the boys of summer battle it out on the field, come back to the bar and celebrate a victory or drink away your sorrow with the many tap beers and cocktails served at Kelly’s Bleachers.
The fun doesn’t stop when baseball season is over, as each evening features food and drink specials or live music and events, making this Milwaukee bar a home run year round.
Step up to the plate and give Kelly’s Bleachers a visit. It’s sure to be a hit! Baseball puns!
Every Day is a Good Day for a Guinness at Paddy's
Irish Bars in Milwaukee
- The 5 Best Irish Bars in Milwaukee
Despite being known for a heavy German heritage, Milwaukee is a city filled with many entertaining Irish bars. These are the 5 Best Irish Bars in Milwaukee.
8) Paddy's Pub
Address: 2339 N. Murray Avenue
Though it shares the same name, Paddy’s Pub has been around much longer than the fictional bar from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia; however, it is certainly a Milwaukee bar Green Man would approve of. Green Man!
If you can’t scratch up enough dough to get to Dublin, Paddy’s Pub is the next best thing. This Milwaukee bar features all the finest Irish beers on tap, including Guinness, Smithwicks and Harp, and a homey atmosphere typical of an authentic Irish pub. And of course, there is a fine selection of Irish whiskeys and scotches to wet your whistle while you kick back and relax with friends and family. Oh, Danny boy!
Every Thursday night and throughout the weekend, Paddy’s Pub is home to live Irish music that will have you dancing a jig with pint in hand.
During the summer and when weather permits, a spacious patio is open to patrons with a charm completely unique to the Irish establishment.
One thing is for sure, Irish eyes will smile on all those who visit Paddy’ Pub.
7) Fanatics Sports Central
Address: 185 N. Jefferson Street
Milwaukee loves sports and Milwaukee loves bars. Therefore, it would make sense that Milwaukee loves Fanatics Sports Central. Voted the best sports bar in Milwaukee two years in a row, Fanatic Sports Central claims to be the city’s only Las Vegas style sports bar.
Featuring 42 high-definition televisions and a 180-inch video screen, the bar is guaranteed to air every live sporting event you can imagine. Curling? Sure. Amateur weightlifting? Why not. The bar even airs UFC events for all you fight fans out there. Don’t forget your Affliction tee shirt, though.
Get to Fanatics Sports Central early on NFL Sundays and spend the day enjoying their menu of burgers, chicken wings, appetizers and beers as you cheer for the Green Bay Packers or your favorite football team.
The stadium seating is sensational and a highlight of the bar, if you ask me. If sitting and watching the game isn’t your thing, not to worry, the game room has pool tables, foosball, bean bags, darts, Madden NFL and much, much more to get you out of your chair and fuel your competitive fire.
Simply put, there’s no better bar in Milwaukee to root, root, root for the home team or any team than Fanatics Sports Central.
Hello? Is This Thing On?
6) The Comedy Cafe

Over the years, world-famous comedians such as Ellen DeGeneres, George Lopez, Andrew Dice Clay, Drew Carey, Dave Chappelle and Adam Sandler have performed at the Comedy Café, so you just never know if you might see comedy’s next biggest star on stage before they break onto the scene. And in case you’re looking to cut your teeth in the world of comedy, every Wednesday night is Open Mic Night at The Comedy Café.
