Wow, you really covered the bases with this one, Patty. Thank you for sharing so many interesting facts about Bethesda. I am familiar with many of the art festivals but the Songwriting Awards celebration is new to me.

Hello Patty. This looks like a great area for young professionals. I shared this on Facebook. There are many young professionals in the group. As always you have gathered, compiled and presented great information.

@mckbirdbks - Thanks very much for sharing this on Facebook! I hope those young professionals find it useful; it's often difficult to find a job all on one's own, without some information.

How interesting! I really enjoyed this, and had no idea it existed. We have a Bethesda in Melbourne, and it's a hospital that has a very good reputation. I think it was originally started by the Salvation Army.

I think a lot of us say, "Oh yeah, Bethesda" but don't know a lot about the city. Once, we visit, we see how much there is to enjoy and respect about the place. 9/11 is a good time to think about it, too. Thanks for commenting!

Howdy Patty - Good article. I spent a year at the Navy Medical School Radioisotope Course (National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda) Only military base I was ever on that was surrounded by a golf course. Right across the street from NIH (where, later, my boss and I visited to get clued in on how to perform total body water testing. The lab we visited at NIH used alligators as their test subjects - their lab floor was covered with glass "alligator cases." Kinda different, that one. Keep up the good writing, Patty!
