Bike Ride - Frankston to Cowes (Phillip Island)

Bike Ride - Frankston to Cowes (Phillip Island)

Fancy a scenic easy bike ride to Phillip Island? It is a flat 70km one way trip and can be done safely in 4-5 hours. The only snag is you have to catch the ferry at Stony Point and it leaves at 12 noon usually. If you miss this you have a very long wait (5pm) for the next one and there is not a lot to do in Stony Point. This means leaving Frankston no later than 8am and don't have too many coffee stops along the way!

Have a look at my trip notes I have prepared.

These include the following stages:

City to Mordialloc - 20kms - Nepean Highway

Mordialloc to Frankston - 15kms - some bike paths, some highway

Frankston to Hastings - 20kms - mostly bike path - some wetlands, some roadside.

Hastings to Stony Point - 20kms - bike path, boardwalks over mangroves, fantastic!!

Stony Point to Cowes - check Ferry timetable http://www.interislandferries.com.au/pi_costs.php
