Driving - Caravanning around Australia

Are you a traveler in Australia loving the freedom of being out on the open road or have you been stuck in one place too long & like us "can't wait to get on the road again " ?

Onslow is our main first destination when the rain stops falling and the dry season is here once again as a mate & his dog tramp left Morawa recently so we want to catch up with them & do some fishing before heading to Broome .

My friend Lina who was keen to get on the road again will be crossing the top of Australia from Queensland so it will be interesting to see where we meet across the top hopefully we will see each other around Broome !

May - September is the time to make the journey from Western Australia across through the Northern Territory & on to Queensland !

We need to start getting prepared for the trip now as it will take some time.

I need to get rid of extra books etc that I have collected while we have been here.

We need to buy a new car battery , tyres for our 4 wheel drive and plan our route .

Also stock up on essentals that will be dearer up north such as

Wine

Beer

Rum

Tampons

Sauces

Long life milk etc.

I have had some help from a great website with the Kimberley area as I don't know a lot about the north of Australia, however I am learning .

However it is going to be exciting exploring new territory & give me plenty to write about here on hubpages!

As well as cleaning the car, shopping for food I have to sort out stuff to dispose off that I have collected along the way , do research for free camping sites as well as caravan parks for places like Onslow and Broome.

In Onslow we are wanting to stay at the same caravan park as our mate which is Beadon Bay Village for $180 a week .

I am hoping that as well as going fishing we can do some snorkeling at Mackeral Island off the coast of Onslow !

We want to be in Broome by the 18th of June to see the Stairway to Heaven & in Broome a caravan park site will cost us about $45 a night.

However we will save a lot of money with free camping when out of town.

We are going to be driving very long distances as we travel to Onslow then Broome , Darwin etc so we need some good driving songs to sing a long to as we go .

I bought a CD called Gentlemen of the country with Willie Nelson & a few others on it .
