The French Survivor
One of the Philippines best-kept secret is now unravelled.
What does Fiji, Thailand, Australia, Indonesia, Palau and Philippines in common… these countries already played hosts to different Survivor editions (United States and or other countries). A reality TV show, the “Survivor” whose theme is outwit, outplay and outlast is one of the most anticipated show in many countries. Sixteen (16) contestants/participants culled from thousands of people who auditioned, are placed in an isolated island or to a remote place to slug it out with each other using stealth, intelligence, agility and even strength in reward and immunity challenges. Only one will emerge as a sole Survivor and the winner will bag windfall of awesome prizes (whopping cash rewards and cars), even lucrative movie and advertisement contracts and gain instant worldwide popularity.
Caramoan Islands is consists of splendid islands and islets and boasts off Gotah Island/Beach being one of the most visited. Enticing in its subtlety – wide open powdery-white beaches, exotic islets, thick foliage and crystal clear waters that teems with an underwater paradise, Caramoan, Camarines Sur is indeed an unspoiled, idyllic and breathtaking place to visit. This hidden paradise already played hosts to five Survivor editions, (France, Turkey, Israel, Bulgaria and Serbia). With five Survivor editions done in Caramoan, this makes this town a cut above the other Survivor sites. The breathtaking views provided by Caramoan made it a perfect site for the Survivor edition, a testament of this is the teaser that was released by the Survivor editions in other countries.
The United States is considering shooting its edition here.
This town which was then rustic and dull but became an instant force in tourism scene worldwide; excellent news to local folks since revenues can be generated to the town.
“With all the exposure our town receives, especially from promotional efforts of the provincial government, tourists are coming in numbers,” said, Municipal Tourism Officer Norma Tendenilla, and added, “Increased tourist arrivals have increased the incomes of hotels, restaurants, store owners and tricycle drivers.”
Since there is an overflow of tourists, hotels could not accommodate some of them, as a result some would stay at the tourism office, or would stay at adjacent homes where families would charge roughly $30 for an overnight stay at one room. Tourist could rent the whole house for $100 overnight.
The fishermen are also benefited from the influx of tourist arrivals, since their boats can be rented for island-hopping although they’re required to provide life vest for safety purposes. Tourists usually shells out around $40 to $100 to rent a boat.
With this development that is taking place in Caramoan jobs were already created and more government projects that will further enhance tourism activities and improve existing facilities are being implemented as soon as possible to accommodate the growing tourist arrivals.
More and more tourists are expected flock in to this hidden paradise to seek one of a kind adventure and enjoy life in an unusual yet very unforgettable way.
The growing worldwide fame Caramoan have been receiving since its worldwide exposure given by Survivor, Philippines again added another splendid tourist spot to its already formidable list of world class and a must visit tourist destination.
