I love New York

New York City is a huge place to get lost at, and to travel to for world travelers from all around the globe. I will be your tour guide today if you never had the privilege to make it your way to NYC, also known as the Big Apple.

Our city here is comprised of a huge population a total of 8,244,910 people as of 2011, and this is statistics based on the New York City demographics data I recently located on Wikipedia. Now that's loads of people to squeeze into 5 boroughs, and they go by the names of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx.

As a youth I was born and raised here in the Island of New York, my mother met my dad in the borough of the Bronx, on Webster Avenue, way back when. So I have grown to be somewhat attached to that of this marvelous city thanks to my lovely parents, it's filled with awesome places to visit, to explore, to eat, to admire and even some to be entertained by from time to time, and as the years have gone by.

The In's and Out's of New York City Travel

New York City is a place where pretty much anything happens, and as they call it at a New York minute, and so many folks are always on their toe's literally moving at a very fast pace mostly, and there are a great deal of hustlers out here that are quick to try to make a living, if you go on the NY trains, or transit system (MTA - Metropolitan Transportation Authority), you will quickly notice that of which I call the underworld, where folks may tend to walk up to you and beg for money pan handling and all, and this is a major part of the reality here in the city, the fact that there are a great deal of homeless people, beggars, and those in need of simply wanting to eat a meal.

On the positive note though, there's a great deal of good, and positive things about New York City. It's a pretty intense place when it comes to nighttime, and day events all throughout the city, the food restaurants is top notch, and lets not forget the bright night lights at 42nd Street Times Square, shopping at 34th street Macy's location, and events at Madison Square Garden. There's also other cool places to visit like China Town, Battery Park, the East Village, Wall Street, the South Street Seaport, and so many other cool places to surface in Manhattan for those looking to tour and enjoy the scenery there.

Visiting Central Park

This summer me and my wife decided to hurry on over to the Park, and this isn't any ole park actually. It is the largest conservation grounds of wildlife, and the biggest park in NYC.

We got to see a great deal at the park in July 2012, it was a very hot day, but it was definitely worth it to go visit. We walked a great deal of distance from 59th street Columbus Circle, and into the heart of Central Park all the way to the Turtle Pond, a bit off from the Great Lawn, and I captured images all along the way, from the central park biking and road way area, to the cool parts where folks were hustling money to earn some buckaroo's.

This was at a location right off from the Turtle Pond, and up high above it around where they have the Amphitheater, where they have live shows, and concerts at times during the summer, and spring times. There's also a cool Delacorte Theater (Established in 1962) where many awesome shows get showcased throughout the spring, and summer seasons.

More reason's why I love NYC

I love New York City for many obvious reasons, and mainly because today I have been learning to become a photographer, and these are just a few of the images I been recently amounting. I have loads more, and its so exciting to be able to finally capture much of the imagery I have already grown to love as a child, and as a young adult all of these years.

So, I highly recommend if you going to venture off into the deep parks of the mechanical jungle that New York City truly is, you might not want to forget that good ole video camera, smart phone with camera capabilities, professional camera if possible, and any kind of digital camera you can manage to purchase or bring. You never know what kind of imagery you may be able to come up with, and especially if you an amateur like myself, its loads of fun!

I have been to the state, Mike, but never to the city. It is soooo huge!!!! I would be a raving lunatic if I lived there....so much noise....so many people....the traffic. I'm a small-town boy, Mike, so I'm not sure how long I would last in that city. Having said that, I think it would be fascinating to visit NYC, and I will someday. Maybe when I do, you and I can sit down over a soda and share as old friends do.

Wonderful tour; thank you Sir!

You are a great tourist guide for sure. Loved the slow motion video. Your photos are great. My daughter went to New York twice with her friend. It is very fast. I think the last time with all the cement, it was so hot and they could not breathe. They enjoyed it, but were ready to leave after four days of it. The first time, it was only the weekend, so it was great. I would love to visit for a short visit one day. Great job on the tour. In His Love, Faith Reaper

@billybuc, thanks man for you awesome insight as you do all the time for me, New York City is a place for everyone indeed, but not everyone will think so as time goes along I guess as you seem to feel, it truly is kind of hectic here for sure, and that's what I think makes it so memorable I guess as well as worth experiencing for sure.

I would love to have a drink with you if and when we meet, unfortunately it will have to be water, I don't drink anything else Bill, but thanks for the kind gesture.

What a great hub CloudExplorer....I love NYC and your hub was a great reminder why. My favorite places to spend time just enjoying the city is Bryant Park, Central Park, and Grand Central. We try to get to the city at least twice a year. September is our favorite time of year to visit followed closely by late spring. I really enjoyed your photos.....you should publish more!. Thanks for a great hub on my favorite city. Voted up and very much appreciated!

I still remember seeing James Taylor perform a free concert before 250,000 people at the Sheep Meadow area of Central Park in 1979. It was an amazing experience I will never forget. NYC is always full of surprises.
