We also extended our vacation with a week in Rome.
Traveling to Chania from the port of Souda was as easy as walking off the ship and getting into a waiting bus just for cruise passengers, at a bargain price of about 1 euro. The bus ride took about 20 minutes and will also pick you up in town for the return trip.
The Central Market Square, Chania's "Agora"
We loved shopping in the Market Square, an open air market full of spices, vegetables and fruit, pottery, souvenir items, olive oil and more. There were free samples at most stalls. We spend about two hours in the market, including lunch. Bring your own shopping bag.
Other places of interest include Old Town, cathedrals and the lighthouse. Royal Caribbean will give you a Port Explorer & Shopping Guide for each port you visit on this cruise. To access the guide for Chania, click here and scroll down to find the link to the file on the right.
