Disney Cars Land at California Adventure
Disney Cars Land Coming in 2012 to California Adventure
Lightning McQueen fans, rejoice! Cars Land is a new 12-acre expansion of Disney's California Adventure theme park in Anaheim that will feature rides and attractions from the popular Disney/Pixar film Cars. The new addition to the park is scheduled to open in 2012 and is one of several projects currently underway to breathe new life into the "other" theme park that makes up the Disneyland Resort.

Cars Land at California Adventure
Visitors to the Disneyland Resort have been enjoying Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Adventureland and Fantasyland since 1955. Starting in the summer of 2012, there will be a new land to enjoy - Cars Land at California Adventure.
The new Cars Land will allow guests to wander through a full-size recreation of Radiator Springs, complete with buildings from the movie such as Flo's V-8 Cafe, as well as the towering Cadillac mountain range in the background. The mountains will be the largest Disney has built in North America.
In addition to being able to watch through the town, visitors will discover three new rides based on the 2006 animated movie.
On Luigi's Flying Tires, users will go through the tire yard before getting in a large Fettucine brand
tire. The tires will then "fly" by means of air forced under the which will be lifted up by air and you'll be able to fly your tire.
In Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, users will ride in a trailer pulled by a baby tractor as they participate in a square dance sung by Mater.
The centerpiece of Disney Cars Land at California Adventure will be the Radiator Springs Racers attraction. According to Wikipedia, guests will ride in a six-person vehicle "through a briefing with characters from the movie such as Doc and Lighting McQueen. Suddenly, guests will find themselves in the middle of a race which includes hairpin turns and steep banks with guests eventually racing another guest vehicle with random race results."
The new Cars Land is just one of the changes currently underway or already completed at California Adventure. Toy Story Mania and World of Color are two rides that have already been added to the park, and more are coming. The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure and Goofy's Sky School are both scheduled to open in 2011, and a new entrance to the California Park is set to be unveiled in 2012.
