Disney World Military Discounts

Walt Disney World has some great discounts and deals for active and retired members of the military. Offers are generally available to Active, Retired, Reservist and National Guard members, as well as Dept. of Defense personnel and include both discount Disney tickets and discounts on room reservations at Walt Disney World resorts.

Also, keep in mind that the US Military has its own private resort located on Disney property, known as Shades of Green. They usually have great accommodation prices and you can pick up your Disney discount tickets there too.

All Disney deals for members of the armed forces require proof of eligibility so be sure to bring your military i.d. to the parks and resorts when you travel.

Disney's Armed Forces Salute

If you're active or retired Military and were (or will be) active duty for any length of service between January, 2008 and December 2009, Mickey Mouse has a great deal for you!

If you are traveling to Walt Disney World before December 23rd, 2009, you can take advantage of one of the best deals that Disney has ever offered to its military guests.

All active and retired members of the armed forces can get one free Disney World park hopper ticket that's good for five days. The ticket also includes water park options or admission to DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney.

In addition to the free Park Hopper ticket for yourself, you are also entitled to purchase an additional five 5-day companion tickets for $99 dollars. These tickets do not have the park hopper feature on them (which allows you to switch parks same day), but if you think you'll be using the park hopper feature, then it is easily added for an extra $25.

Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion tickets offer a huge savings over regular Disney ticket prices. Normally a regular 5-day Magic Your Way base ticket would cost $222.00 and the park hopper and water parks options would add an additional $50 each, bringing the total cost to $322.00 for a ticket comparable to the Armed Forces Salute tickets.

Where to Buy: the Armed Forced Salute tickets are only available for purchase at the theme park ticket booths at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Disney-MGM Studios.

Other Disney Military Discount Tickets

If you won't be traveling before December 23rd, 2009 then you'll want to take a look at Disney World's other discount ticket options for military members. Known as Magic Your Way Stars and Stripes tickets, these discounted tickets are only available at Shades of Green, the military resort located at Walt Disney World.

The Stars and Stripe tickets are park hopper tickets and have the water park and DisneyQuest visits included in the price. If you don't intend to visit the water parks or DisneyQuest, then you are better off getting regular Magic Your Way tickets.

Stars and Stripes tickets are only available if you are staying at Shades of Green or a Walt Disney World resort. So if you stay off property, you are out of luck. Have no fear however, as there are other ways to get discounts!

If you will be staying off property, then you can buy discounted Magic Your Way tickets at your military base. Your best bet is to check prices available at your Base and then check the prices at Undercover Tourist, which will frequently be your best bet for saving money.
