Dreamland Bali is one of Bali’s most famous beaches, located on the southern Bukit peninsula. This beach originally attained its fame as being one of the most beautiful and unspoiled undiscovered beaches in Bali, which also provided some of the best surfing on the island. Unfortunately in recent years the area has been taken over by developers causing it to lose some of its original charm.
Dreamland beach is located in an area of Bali called Pecatu, about 30 minutes drive away from Kuta. To get to Bali dreamland you need follow Jalan Uluwatu towards Uluwatu beach and then pass through the gate for the Pectau Graha developments which was a luxury hotel complex which was never finished. After driving through this complex, you will arrive at Dream land Bali which has recently been rebranded “New Kuta Beach”. Although there are security guards at the main entrance to the complex, this is not a private beach and has access to the general public.
Dreamland beach is a beautiful white sand beach surrounded by high cliffs. Originally a spot for surfers, the small local warungs have been replaced with larger hotel establishments and the area has become rather crowded and lost some of the laid back atmosphere that made it so popular with backpackers and surfers. It is still a great spot for surfing and it is also possible to rent a beach lounger and just sunbathe or watch the surfers and the sunset.
Surfing at Bali Dreamland
Dreamland beach was first made popular by surfers and it is still a great spot for surfing today. The waves are strong and there is a coral reef not far offshore so it is only recommended for experienced surfers. It can become crowded during the weekend but is less busy on week days. The cliff tops are a great place to sit and watch the swell to wait for the next big wave. It is possible to surf at Dreamland beach even at low tide
There are several other surf beaches close by such as Uluwatu beach which are handy alternatives if Dream land is too crowded for surfing. The popularity of the area makes it a great place to meet other surfers and there are several cheap accommodation options and ‘surf camps’ nearby.
Dreamland Villa Bali
Dreamland villa is a private villa complex located close to Dreamland beach and Uluwatu temple. There are some impressive views of the ocean from the high cliffs here and many secluded beaches, making it a great location for honeymoons and luxury vacations.
The Dreamland Villa & Spa consists of 42 separate Dreamland villas which all have their own private swimming pool. These luxury designed villas are perfect for couples on honeymoon or a special vacation, with 5 star service in the amazing location of Dreamland Bali.
