New York is Beautiful in the Fall Season

To witness the vibrant colors of the autumn leaves changing, is very exciting to our sense of sight. Fall foliage in New York is filled with an awesome variety of colors that will rival any state across the country.

Most of the northeast of the United States has beautiful views of the changing leaves of the trees. But New York State, especially, has some of the most spectacular foliage you could see. All across New York State, trees give a scintillating sense of the changing colors of the leaves.

From the mountains of upstate New York, to the seashores of Long Island, the vast of amount of trees in New York will give the viewer a spectular range of colors in autumn to see. From a bright and brilliant orange, to a breathtaking crimson red, and deep yellows that mark the autumn season all across the northeast, New York is one of the most beautiful places to visit in autumn.

New York gives an exceptional view, because there is such a large variety of trees that span across this state. New York’s leaves change at different times from the more northern areas, where the temperatures cool down earlier, towards the southern part of the state, where the leaves will change weeks later.

Beginning up in the Adirondack Mountains and moving downward to the Catskills, the trees in these mountains offer a breathtaking view of a rainbow of colors, almost as soon as autumn begins in September. By October to early November, the leaves in Long Island and Central Park in Manhattan, have changed.

The peak of the changing leaves last about 4 days, in each of these areas, but the colors stay on the trees for as long as 2 weeks in each region of the state.

See the list below for the best places to view the beauty of the changing leaves in New York.

There is nothing quite like the beauty of the Fall colored leaves in the more northern reaches of our country. We get some of it in the south but because we do not have the same trees, it pales in comparison. Thanks for this lovely and informative hub about the Fall Foliage in New York. Perhaps someday I will make it up that way during the right time of year. Up votes and sharing.

Fall is my favorite season, but here in the Lowcountry of SC nothing really changes colors except when it withers and turns brown because it gave up...

It is so incredible that you can see the foliage from space! I never would have guessed. Thanks for all the beautiful pictures.

This is a novel but useful way of looking at the colours of autumn in New York. It must be helpful for anyone interested in nature, and in particular nature photography, to have ideas presented like this for good locations from which to view the colours. The map, the photos, and above all the tables of what to do, where and when to do it, are all helpful for a visitor or resident of the state. Voted up. Alun.
