McDaniel College was established in 1994 and it is a branch of McDaniel College, a private liberal arts college located in Westminster, Maryland, U.S.A.. · CEU

Central European University (CEU) is a graduated level, English spoken based university located in Budapest, Hungary. It offers Master’s and doctoral programs in the social sciences, humanities, public policy, law, business management, economics, environmental sciences & policy, and mathematics. Central European University was established in 1991 as a result of the democratic revolutions sweeping across Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. The university’s founding vision was of a university dedicated to building open societies.

· Franz Liszt Academy

The Franz Liszt Academy of Music, often abbreviated as the “music academy” was founded by Franz Liszt itself (though named after its founder only in 1925, approx. 50 years after it was relocated to its current location at the heart of Budapest). Franz Liszt, a musical genius: a piano virtuoso, composer, conductor, music teacher, author and philanthropist – has established the original music academy at his own home on 1875. The Franz Liszt Academy of Music’s International Registrar’s Office provides assistance to international students in both academic and bureaucratic issues. all matters related to students registration, medical insurance, issuing of student IDs, timetables, rentals of instruments, etc. will be handled.

Erasmus Studies:

Students from partner institutions are eligible to apply for studying at the Franz Liszt Academy as Erasmus program students for one semester or for the entire academic year. Erasmus students are required to complete the application form at their respective home institution and send a recording showing their musical skills.

Entry requirements for studies in Hungary

As part of the European Union (starting from 2004), citizens of the EU and EEA member states do not require a visa to enter Hungary. The following list contains the country which their nationals just require their passport and id card to enter Hungary: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK. Apart from the citizens of these countries, the citizens of the following countries are allowed to enter Hungary without a Vise under the restriction of their stay does not exceed 90 days and that the purpose of their visit is not employment or other income-earning activity. Non EU/EEA citizens

Citizens of the Non-EU/EEA countries (required to get a visa) can apply for various types of visas depending of the purpose of their stay. long-term visa. The application process for a long-term visa usually takes between 30 and 60 days; while an application for a short-term visa will normally be processed in 5 to 15 days. In case of a long-term visa first you will receive a Visa which you can travel into Hungary with. This Visa is valid for 30 days from the date you entered the Schengen Area. During this period you will need to go to the Hungarian Immigration Office in person to receive the final Schengen Residence Permit and to arrange the Address Registration too.

Cost of studies in Hungary:

For EU students:

it is highly recommended to contact the academic institution relevant for their studies, as they may be eligible for a "state-funded" status. "State funded" students are citizens of countries which have reciprocal agreements with the state of Hungary, allowing them to enjoy a substantial funding for their studies in Hungary.

For non EU students:

Compared with other student oriented countries in Western Europe, the cost of studies in Hungary is considered quite affordable (though the tuition has rose during the last couple of years). The fees vary significantly according to the chosen university and academic program, while in most cases, the medicine studies will be the more expensive ones with fees up to 20.000euro while other programs can be as low as about 5000 euro.

The living expenses in Hungary are quite low, and a monthly budget of 750 euro per month should be sufficient for a nice apartment (please take into consideration that while you search to find apartments to let in Hungary, apartments rentals in Budapest itself will be the more expensive).
