Greenlee's Bakery

Greenlee's Bakery

Not only is the building that contains the bakery old, but the bakery itself has been around for a while--as the front of the building states, since 1924. The bakery may be old, but the food is as fresh as can be. The wide variety includes coffee cakes, bagels, muffins, and everything else you expect to find at a bakery. What I found unique was that they also served breakfast burritos. Since it was close to St. Patrick's Day when we were there, the bakery also had a selection of green-colored and shamrock-shaped goodies. You could sit and enjoy your food or have it on the go. It is closed on Sundays and holidays, though.

Greenlee's bakery is located in San Jose, California. 1081 The Alameda, San Jose, CA 95126. Their phone number is: 408.287.4191.

I know all this because my dad used to work there. They have great cakes, bread & goodies. Mr. Greenlee retired I believe about 20 years ago. He sold the business to Rosalinda & Norbert who have kept the business going strong. They create beautiful and yummy cakes, including wedding cakes. I definitely suggest trying their cinnamon bread.
