This past summer i visited Jamaica for the first time. I've heard so many great things about Jamaica from family and friends. So i thought it was only right to see for myself how great Jamaica really was.

My Arrival

When i first arrived in Jamaica, i was greeted by airport personnel. They made me feel very welcomed, and their accents where just so unique and beautiful. I was shown where i needed to go to eventually end up at The Riu hotel in Ochos Rios,Jamaica.

Driving in Jamaica

Fortunately i didn't have to worry about driving in Jamaica, because the Riu provided transportation. Unfortunately i don't know if me driving or local Jamaicans driving was even the safest choice. For the first time in my life i felt like i was going to get car sick, because the driving rules there well lets just say there aren't to many. It's basically drive at your own risk if you ask me. And i seen maybe 3 speed limit signs the whole 8 days i was there, but it seemed to be a waste of posting, because none of the taxi drivers ever minded the signs. So as far as the driving that's one thing i won't miss. But this will not stop me from going i still love Jamaica.

Hotel

The Riu hotel me and my family stayed at was beautiful. There was so much detail put into every piece they used to put together this place. We stayed in a Suite and were upgraded to VIP once we arrived to the hotel. Our suite was gorgeous, it had a wet bar, hydro massage bath tub, a sitting area, and a balcony where you looked out to the ocean. The hotel staff here were great. I really enjoyed the entertainment crew, I've never seen so many people really enjoy their jobs the way that they did. They were truly amazing. This resort was all inclusive so all the drinks and food on the resort was already paid for when i arrived, so even though i brought money i really didn't have to use it unless i went into town or wanted to buy gifts.

Locals

When i drifted off of the resort and went into town i met so many people. The locals here are so full of life. They really showed me that the simple things in life really are the most important, and that material things are just that material. When asking for help or just asking a question i was always kindly greeted with "no problem Mon" this became a repeated phrase through out my stay. I never knew that people where so kind, because here in the states people usually look at you crazy when you talk to them and they don't know you.

Night Life

Ok so this was the best part for me in Jamaica. The nightlife here was just out of this world. At around 10:00 i would go to This club called Margarita-ville. This club had a pool and a slide that went into the pool. It was something I've never seen before. When you go to a club in jamaica they have all these different contest they you can enter some of them were dancing contest drinking contest and so on. Once i got on the dance floor i never wanted to come back off. I kept wishing the night would never end. Of course i was dancing with the local Jamaican men, FYI they can get a little freaky with the dancing but it wasn't nothing i couldn't handle and it was all in fun. And let me tell you something unlike in the states where a lot of guys don't or cant dance, the guys here be getting down with the get down so girls get ready, as well as for guys the girls here be working it so guys step your game up. I truly love love love the night life and for this alone i will continue to visit Jamaica.

My near future return

Around the same time next year i will be returning to Jamaica. As soon as i i cam back home i was ready to go back. I feel as though now i will be able to enjoy myself even more because, i know what to expect. This is a trip i will never forget and would recommend to anyone who needs a couple days of relaxation or just wants to explore something new to visit Jamaica you will not regret it. In the words of the Jamaicans "There's No Problem Mon ".
