Tips for Buying a Lighted Travel Mirror
How to Choose a Lighted Travel Mirror
When you're on the road, having a compact, lighted travel mirror can be a real convenience. Hotel rooms sometimes have poor lighting when it comes to dealing with contact lenses, applying makeup, or completing with the finer details of facial grooming. The smallest of travel mirrors can even be used on airplanes, in airport bathrooms, and elsewhere while you travel.
Although they are pretty basic in their construction and purpose, there are a few things to think about before you buy.
You'll want to consider what size is ideal for you. Small is portable, but too small means you'll only see a small portion of your face. This is ok, if you're inserting contacts, but trickier if you want to apply all over makeup.
Magnification is a useful feature too, especially if your vision isn't perfect!
Lighting can help in all of those situations when available light is limited. Some people prefer the look of incandescent but LED lights are often longer lasting and fluorescent tends to be brighter. Check to see how much light will be provided. Some lighted travel mirrors offer a small minature bulb, others an entire ring of light.
Of course distortion free glass is preferred to get the best view and the items on this page offer that.
Finally, you'll also want to be sure portability will suit your travel needs. Some of these mirrors are purse sized, some are better for larger suitcases. Some require batteries which means you can use it even when an outlet isn't available, but certainly one with AC/DC abilities can save on the cost to replace batteries and often provides the brightest light.
