Travel Destination : New Zealand
No wonder "The Lord of the Rings" was shot here.
Queenstown in New Zealand is an awesome place to spend vacation in, either with your family, your loved one or even with friends!
The climate is just perfect! I mean its not freezing cold when we went there -- but it was comfortably cold! I love it! For someone who hails from a tropical country like the Philippines, one just can fall in love with the climate there! I don't mind walking around because ( unlike in Manila where you will definitely sweat all over) its refreshing to feel the cool breeze touching your face that you actually enjoy stretching those leg muscles!
The sceneries are oh so quaint! Mountains and vast, green pastures everywhere loaded with hundreds and hundreds of sheep of different colors left and right! -- I mean, seriously...I never realized these pastures are so awesome to behold!
The lakes are so placid, so still, so quiet...the mountains towering and wonderful to look at.
Aside from picturesque views, there are a lot of things to enjoy while in queenstown. For those that can muster courage to bunjy jump, then this is the best place to let it out! If you're a para glider enthusiast, then New Zealand will be a paradise for you. For the less adventurious guys, (like I am) dont lose heart...you have an equal chance of enjoying yourself. Take the luge where you can still have some action and fun without the adrenalin rush or ride the cable car and see beauty of queenstown above. Or sailing, if you love the waters!
Cruising aboard a steam boat is something I will never forget for as long as I live. I vividly remember an old Kiwi man playing the baby grand piano while everyone of us seated around him would sing with him as he plays ol' time favorite songs like Amazing grace and Hello Dolly and For he's a jolly good fellow...and a lot, lot more. For us younger generations (LOL) the songs are not so familiar, but its the harmony and the ambience that really warms the heart.
I also enjoyed their architecture. I love the way their houses were built. So sturdy, so strong you'd feel safe and warm and loved inside. ( I guess)
And it also feels like home! There's KFC, McDonalds, Starbucks everywhere! And oh! I love their ice cream! Simply one of the best in the world! Their fruits, cheese barbecue are not-to-be-missed too...and chocolates!!!!
So there. Treat yourself and your loved ones, one of these days to a holiday in New Zealand. I bet, you will never, ever regret setting foot on that wonderful place I call haven on earth.
