Visit Oslo, Norway

Taking your family to see Norway is a way to take show them the natural looks of beauty that Northern Europe has to offer. Norway tourism's most compelling character is the Natural fjords created by the retraction of glaciers that used to cover Norway. It's a very sensational yet lively experience to get to witness how the world was formed. The view of the fjords is absolutely incredible as you can view the steep slopes of the mountains and the crisscrossing of the seas around Norway.

If you're after something that is off the path of the ordinary and something real, the country of Norway which is located at the northern edge of the European continent is a destination to strongly think about. Fjords often are the first thing people think of when traveling to Norway, however don't forget about the natural phenomenon of North Cape's midnight sun. If you still need more reason to come to Norway, then go see Tromso. Tromso is a unique city that, in the middle of summer, the sun never goes down and in winter it never rises. It's a very cool experience to have.

The city of Oslo, while being a picturesque destination is also the capital of Norway and being the gateway to the oil industry, it is also a major financial center.

Thanks to the lack of population density and distribution being skewed (very small next to other European cities) you  can find some very strange aspects regarding the country you wouldn't find in any other country. For instance the largest glacier in Europe, Josteldalsbreen, is situated right in the midst of the urban area of Norway.

Snowboarding, skiing, fishing and rock climbing are just some of the outdoor activities you would be able to try out while you're in Norway. These activities are a lot of fun in Norway due to all the enchantment and the scenic beauty offered all around you. If you're looking for something that will help you relax then you should consider going up to the high mountain lakes and viewing the steep side valleys which are a major draw for Norway tourism.

As the fjords begin to get more attention tourists are starting to desire tours to Norway to see these natural phenomenon. The unique identity that Norway possesses stems from the enchanting scenery. Norway is an ideal destination for tourists from all over the world. If you desire checking out Norway and its natural beauty, you should book a vacation now. Numerous online travel guides are available to help assist you in planning you trip to Norway. If you want to find the lowest prices use an online reservation on a cheap Oslo hotel.

In getting to Norway, you are able to land in any other European country and travel to Norway from there. Driving or taking a train are options of how you could travel to Norway from other European destinations.

The country of Norway is a country I'm sure you'll love no matter which time of the year you visit. Whether you go in the summer or the winter, you'll be able to see beauty and have a variety of different activities you can partake in. Be sure to check out Lillehammer, which is located north of Oslo, in order to see the facilities of the 1994 Olympic games.

Such a beautiful country from what I see and have heard although I have yet to visit. Since I have 1/4 Norwegian heritage, it would be fun to visit someday. Thanks for this hub.

Yes Peggy. You should go, especially with your heritage! If you are into skiing and snowboarding, maybe try it out in the winter.

But in the summer, it is green and breathtaking. The fjords are pretty much.... well, heavenly. You have to go just to get a view of them some time.

Thanks. I agree that Oslo is a truly and natural one of a kind place worthy of being traveled to by all at least once in their life! Norway may not be the glamor trip, but certainly is a majestically beautiful, peaceful and relaxing spot to go to.

After reading the post, I have impression that the author have never been in Oslo nor in Norway. None of the pictures in the post presents Oslo. Not even neighbourhood of Oslo. The first one, described as "One of Norways Fjords - Oslo" is called Geirangerfjorden which is over 500km (over 310 miles) from Oslo. The other fjord is not easy to recognise but still it's at least 300km (ca. 180miles) away from Oslo.

Also the youtube movie described as "Beautiful Oslo" shows only one or two pictures of Oslo. The rest of footages presents places from all over the country.

Another thing, the city is not a "gate of the oil industry". There's no oil in Oslo area. You must travel at least 500km (ca. 310miles) or more to see anything related to oil industry.

Thumb up for writing about Norway, but thumb down for all those crucial mistakes. Dear author, don't built false expectations. People can be disappointed when arriving to Oslo.
