Our desire to travel low-cost never abandons us, even in August! The week of August, along with Christmas and New Year, is one of the most expensive times of the year to go on a vacation: prices are soaring and few spaces are available. But, if you are forced to leave at this time and are looking to travel internationally, don’t despair: you can save money and find cheap offers even if you have to go on vacation in August.

Sardinia

Sardinia is suitable for all types of travelers. You can choose a relaxing vacation immersed in nature, or a more VIP area full of high-class clubs and parties! Although in this latter case, you risk spending more.

To save money during a vacation in Sardinia, since August is a particularly expensive month, you must consider carefully what is most convenient for your needs. You might prefer a relaxing vacation on the beach, rather than a wild nightlife on a renomated club which is going to be considerably more expensive.

What you will certainly find in Sardinia, in fact, is its beautiful sea, which has nothing to envy to the most exotic and remote destinations, and best of all, it’s totally free. You can find hidden coves, secluded from the world without spending much. In addition, prices vary widely from place to place, depending on the week you choose to leave, an apartment can be certainly cheaper than a hotel.

Greece

Greece is a fascinating land, surrounded by deep blue sea, boasting many different islands, each with their own characteristics making them unique and quite special. Of all of the islands, Corfu is the most economical, but nevertheless offers many attractions and natural beauty.

However, if you prefer a vacation in the beautiful nature of Patmos or the bustling nightlife of Mykonos, you can find cheap prices to Greece also in August. You can choose the “Last minute travel” option, or choose accommodations in studio apartments or cheaper housing units.

Balearic Islands

Ibiza, the queen of nightlife, Majorca the capital of culture, Minorca the island of wind and wild nature and Formentera the hippie and chic island are among the Balearic Islands.

When you choose your last minute to the Balearic, keep in mind that Formetera is the most expensive destination and Mallorca is the cheapest. A tip to save money in the Baleari Islands is to choose an apartment or, if you choose a travel package ,select an option where a pension is included, this way, you will not be forced to eat out and risk to fall into the classic tourist traps.

Red Sea

If you are not afraid of the August heat, the Red Sea is your destination! Fabulous sea and low prices await you. Ready to put your fins, snorkel and bathing suit in your suitcase? Choose your dream destination: Sharm, Marsa Alam, Hurghada, Taba and El Quseir, are all beautiful and affordable. Whether you choose a travel package, or you are plan your trip by yourself, the cost of living here is very low, regardless of which trip you choose.

Turkey

A vacation in Turkey in August is ideal for beach lovers, but, also perfect for those who want to discover the natural and cultural beauties of this fascinating country. Of all the classic seaside resorts, Bodrum is the most economical destination. Also, consider that in Turkey, the cost of living is very low, and this means you will ultimately save money when buying food or purchasing souvenirs. If you are looking for a different vacation, you can opt for alternatives such as an interesting tour of Turkey or a Cruise in Caicco, but do not expect, in this case, to save money.

Other tips for saving in August

You should book well in advance to choose from a wider range of possibilities. Finally, if you can postpone your vacation to September, your savings will be more remarkable, but you very likely already knew this!
