Orchard Road Shopping, Singapore

Orchard Road is a huge commercial hub in Singapore. It is quite a surprise that the name of the road is 'Orchard' and yet we call it a commercial hub. The reason is that long ago this road used to lead to orchards but today it is lined with some of the swankiest and posh malls that you could find in Singapore.

Spanning a total of 2.2 km, this road is the home to all the well known brands and if you came to Singapore, then this is a place you have to visit. So, for a shopaholic, this is an absolute heaven. You could find every single brand on earth on this one single stretch of road.

Morning - Duty Free Shopping

Orchard road is a very busy street and so is the night life that you find here. So, after the entire night bash, morning is the time to rest. This is the reason why most shops and other businesses open after 11 am except one - DSF Galleria on 25 Scotts Road. The best thing about DSF Galleria is that you can shop everything from shoes to accessories without paying anything in taxes. What could be more alluring than this?

You can have breakfast at Killiney Kopitiam, a well known Hainanese cafe in Lucky Plaza. They start early in the morning at 7 am and serve traditional style Singapore food. After you are done with the breakfast, you can go the nearby mall named ION Orchard.

ION Orchard is a very popular mall in Singapore and houses some of the most expensive brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Dolce and Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, and more. And given the popularity of this place, you may even meet up with some of the Hong Kong celebrities as well, if you lucky.

Afternoon - Time to Eat and Shop Some More

It is afternoon and time to have lunch. Food Republic at Wisma Atria is a popular food court serving affordable authentic local food. Do remember to watch your weight because you could buy a lot for even just US$10. Very close to this food plaza is Takashimaya Shopping Center, an enormous mall with many big brands. So if you aren't done with brand shopping, then here is another shopping heaven for you.

Another mall to visit is the Paragon Mall. Just opposite to Paragon, you will find another awesome mall named Knightsbridge. Both of them are also known to have the swankiest brands to shop from.

At a small walking distance of 5 minutes is the famous H&M Singapore. It is quite obvious that walking through so many huge malls takes its toll on the body and drains you out of energy.

Better replenish with some exquisite food. You can head straight to the 313@Somerset shopping mall to have your dinner.

Evening - Time to Relax

Take your dinner at the Republic Food Court at 5th floor of 313@Somerset. You will love the traditional Singapore food served here. You will find some more brands and if you aren't done with the day's shopping then here is another chance to splurge.

Close by is the Centrepoint shopping center which is popular for shopping household goods. And finally, you can end the day with a blockbuster movie at the Plaza Singapura. You will find Golden Village Cineplex here which is very famous for multiple screens, comfy chairs and excellent sound system.
